Our client is seeking a Solutions Architect in Glen Allen, VA.
Role Description
The Solution Architect is a key technology leadership position whose primary responsibility is to consult, analyze, identify and recommend technology solutions to solve for and meet business goals. The role will require a deep understanding of software applications, system integration, product evaluation, system implementation and software development. This exciting role will take both strategic and tactical views of current and future needs to help guide key decisions that impact the overall application functionality landscape.
• Identify and evaluate a variety of technology application solutions for the organization based on use cases and desired business outcomes
• Lead and Document formal solution evaluations including considerations related to business benefits, ongoing cost, operational impacts, potential information security or compliance risks, and overall strategic alignment
• Provide in-depth technical consultation to business partners and technology teams to ensure solutions are efficient and effective, and support established standards and methodologies
• Assess existing solutions to ensure capabilities are being fully leveraged and value is maximized
• Identify underutilized or duplicative solutions within the enterprise and recommend ways to consolidate solutions to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency
• Develop and maintain comprehensive solution, system, and data flow artifacts.
• Lead sessions and communications to ensure other teams expand their knowledge and understanding of the systems in place.
• Assist with the evolution and maturation of the enterprise technology architecture program
• Engage vendors and third-parties when necessary to analyze design options, enhance existing solutions, and ensure contracted work is consistent, on time and meets standards/expectations.
• Constantly research capabilities of current and new disruptive solutions on the market and make recommendations to leadership.
Skills & Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in computer/technology or related field is preferred
• At least 10 years of Information Technology experience, with direct experience implementing complex software applications and system integrations or ecosystems
• 7+ years in a structured IT organization using a variety of methodologies, and strong technical environment management disciplines
• Mastery / certification in one or more standard architecture frameworks or technologies
• Proven ability to influence both business and technology professionals to achieve common goals.
• Experience in and knowledge of Financial Services industry is preferred.
Consulting experience is also desired
• Strong knowledge of software applications, development, data integration and technology strategic planning.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software development lifecycle and implementation projects in an Agile environment
• Ability to organize and coordinate cross-functional technical and business teams
• Strong communication and documentation skills with an attention to detail
• Creative thinking, problem solving and flexible adoption of new/different ideas
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
