Job Summary
The School of Nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications and nominations for a part-time faculty position in the area of Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to teach their area of expertise in our Master of Science in Nursing program, psychiatric-mental health NP track. We are interested in hiring dynamic faculty who have a strong interest in educational excellence and innovation to prepare nurses for the local, regional, and national workforce with interprofessional and global competencies. Faculty are expected to be actively engaged in the scholarship of discovery, teaching and learning or practice/application.

MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston is an innovative and interprofessional graduate school with post-baccalaureate, direct entry-level master's and doctorate, and post-professional programs in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, speech-language pathology, health professions education, and a PhD in rehabilitation sciences. School of Nursing
Serving over 500 students with 55 full-time faculty, SON offers an accelerated BSN program, an entry-level and post-professional Master of Science in Nursing, a Certificate of Advanced Study, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice, one of the first DNP programs in the country.
The SON faculty includes outstanding educators and researchers in nursing. Many are also recognized nationally and internationally for their clinical and scholarly excellence.
The Master of Science in Nursing and the Doctor of Nursing Practice programs attained their highest rankings ever in the U. S. News & World Report 2018 Best Graduate Schools list. The three-year direct-entry master's program, in which students are prepared to become nurse practitioners upon graduation, is tied for 63rd - third in Greater Boston, fourth in Massachusetts, and sixth in New England. The post-professional doctorate, the profession's terminal clinical degree, is tied for 50th - first in Greater Boston, second in Massachusetts, and third in New England.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will be eligible for licensure in Massachusetts, hold at least one graduate degree in nursing in the area of specialization required for the faculty appointment; a doctorate in nursing or a related discipline is preferred. Current certification as a psychiatric/mental health NP (child/adolescent) is required for the advanced practice track. Exceptional applicants with a master's degree in nursing and 3-5 years of psychiatric/mental health nursing will be considered as faculty for prelicensure programs. Additionally, candidates must possess a commitment to scholarship appropriate with rank and must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
