Job Summary: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities of the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management within the non-profit sector and will be able to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Manage the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulations.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor and report on financial performance and variances.
Coordinate and support external audits.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Maintain and improve internal controls and financial procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the non-profit sector.
Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting standards (GAAP) and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
