Job Inputs:
The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is a manager-level role which is designed to give someone new to the captive insurance industry the experience necessary to be successful, both leading people and managing clients.
Responsible for leadership of Account Managers and administrative support staff.
Responsible for managing assigned accounts and client financial statement preparation. The expectation is that in year 1 of the role, this will account for about 50% of time.
Provide gradually increasing levels of technical accounting and regulatory guidance to staff
Responsible for quality control, whether through direct review of staff work, or implementation of peer-review processes.
Responsible for assigning workload and clients to staff.
Responsible for Client Financial Statement production and review and ensuring timely delivery.
Responsible for Compliance filings and ensuring client and regulatory deadlines met - this includes Premium Tax Filings, Audit, Actuarial, Annual Reports, NAIC and State filings and other required reports.
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Responsible for ensuring client profitability, recommending pricing adjustments based on scope of work.
Embody a strong commitment to service excellence, emulate behaviors to coach and train employees to fully embrace.
Education and/or Training:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus (Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or MBA).
For candidates with no experience in the captive industry, the candidate is expected to enroll (at Company's expense) in the ACI certification program and pursue certification as quickly as possible.
Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
Relevant Work Experience:
3-5+ years' experience, including 2+ at a leadership level
Breadth and depth of technical or functional expertise in own area of responsibility or department; may be acquiring knowledge of other related areas of Captive Insurance
Developing and implementing processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy

Pay:
We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $97,450.00 - $141,300.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay and bonus earnings.
