FLSA Status: Exempt (1.0 FTE)   General Summary The Exercise Physiologist will work with patients in the Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation (ICR) program at the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida (CVICFL). This role involves supporting and encouraging patients to meet their health and life goals through individualized exercise regimens, health monitoring, and motivation. The position is available at three levels: Exercise Physiologist I, Exercise Physiologist II, and Exercise Physiologist III, which are differentiated by experience, education, and demonstrated growth within the field.
Essential Responsibilities

1. Monitor and motivate patients during rehabilitative exercise sessions to ensure progress and safety (40%).
2. Design individualized exercise programs for patients based on their medical history and fitness levels (15%).
3. Track and document patient progress and health statistics such as blood pressure, heart rate, and EKGs (15%).
4. Ensure patient attendance and follow up as needed to promote engagement in the ICR program (10%).
5. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to review patient progress and update treatment plans (10%).
6. Compile patient results for review by the Medical Director and team (10%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field.
• Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) certification required within 6 months for all levels.
• Participation in Pritikin ICR Deep Dive, Remote Training, and Team Training

Career Levels

• Exercise Physiologist I: Entry-level position requiring minimal experience. Ideal for recent graduates or those with less than 2 years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation.
• Exercise Physiologist II: Requires 2-3 years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation and demonstrated ability to work independently with patients.
• Exercise Physiologist III: Requires 5+ years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation and advanced knowledge of exercise physiology. Ideal for individuals with extensive clinical expertise in cardiac care.
