Exercise Physiologist at Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida

FLSA Status: Exempt (1.0 FTE)

General Summary

The Exercise Physiologist will work with patients in the Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation (ICR) program at the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida (CVICFL). This role involves supporting and encouraging patients to meet their health and life goals through individualized exercise regimens, health monitoring, and motivation.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Monitor and motivate patients during rehabilitative exercise sessions to ensure progress and safety (40%).
2. Design individualized exercise programs for patients based on their medical history and fitness levels (15%).
3. Track and document patient progress and health statistics such as blood pressure, heart rate, and EKGs (15%).
4. Ensure patient attendance and follow up as needed to promote engagement in the ICR program (10%).
5. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to review patient progress and update treatment plans (10%).
6. Compile patient results for review by the Medical Director and team (10%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field.

• Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field (preferred).

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.

• Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) certification required within 6 months.

• Participation in Pritikin ICR Deep Dive, Remote Training, and Team Training
