What to expect.

Under the direction of the Vice President and Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Senior Director of Institutional Giving will oversee the development and execution of Sheppard Pratt's Institutional Foundation strategy. This includes identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with private and public foundations, businesses, corporations, and corporate foundations at local, regional, national, and international levels.

Specific responsibilities include:

Building Relationships

  • Enhances Sheppard Pratts initiatives to meet the needs of patients, families, donors, staff, and the community.
  • Fosters positive relationships with donors, staff, physicians, clinicians, and patient families.
  • Builds strong relationships with foundation and corporate prospects and donors.
  • Builds long-term relationships and strengthens relationships with key communities to support business goals.

Planning

  • Researches and identifies funding sources, generating proposals aligned with foundation guidelines and interests.
  • Designs fundraising strategies to support business priorities.
  • Develops long-term strategies for foundation and corporate giving.

Donor Administration and Management

  • Maintains and active portfolio of foundation prospects and donors.
  • Assures that stewardship and reporting requirements are met to sustain successful foundation partnerships.
  • Responsible for special projects, such as cause-related marketing and venture philanthropy opportunities, as needed.

Management

  • Manages the Director of Corporate Giving.
  • Works closely with the special projects, finance, and budgeting offices.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.

What we need from you.

  • Bachelors degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of non-profit fundraising experience, with an emphasis on foundation giving.
  • Experience managing a team is required.
  • A background in healthcare fundraising is preferred
