A Day in the Life

Join our dynamic team at Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) in Brooklyn Center, MN, where we design, develop, and manufacture energy components for implantable devices used in Cardiac Rhythm and Neuro Modular businesses. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of our plastic injection mold tooling.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following, working with internal manufacturing and external vendors:


  • Root cause analysis of common injection mold defects

  • Interpret print specifications including GD&T

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to investigate, repair, and requalify injection molding equipment

  • Provide feedback to Product Development teams on design concepts and specification requirements to optimize manufacturability (DFM)

  • Optimize existing processes and designs to improve quality, efficiency, and yield

  • Coach other engineers on injection molding best practices in development and troubleshooting production issues

  • Provide technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area

  • Onsite

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 4 years of injection molding & tooling experience or an advanced degree in an engineering discipline and 2 years of injection molding and tooling experience

Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications


  • Expertise in injection molding process development and production troubleshooting for medical devices

  • Experience working with tool shops to articulate maintenance and repair needs

  • CAD experience (eDrawings preferred)

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$97,600.00 - $146,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
