The College of Arts + Sciences Recruiting Office collaborates with the College of Arts and Science's Executive Dean, senior College leadership, faculty and staff, and current students and alumni, as well as a wide array of other campus partners, to develop and implement strategies for attracting students to the College's programs of study. The College's paramount goal is to recruit students from a variety of diverse backgrounds who are academically outstanding.
The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest academic unit at Indiana University Bloomington. It is composed of 40+ departments, 50+ Centers, Programs, and Institutes, while also including the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design, the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, and The Media School.
Faculty in the College teach over 50% of the Indiana University (Bloomington) credit hours and the College occupies about 1.3 million square feet of space in 80+ buildings on the Bloomington campus.
Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Works closely with dean's office, department chairs, faculty, and academic and career advisors to ensure the College is offering and highlighting curriculum and professional development opportunities that will attract high-performing students.
Works with the College's Office of Marketing and Communications to develop and implement full range of marketing materials, strategic communications, and events.
Manages Indiana high school recruitment initiatives, including planning and executing high school visits to campus and other special events.
Determines ways to engage key constituents (faculty, teachers, guidance counselors, current students) effectively throughout the recruitment process.
Develops recruiting training programs for those constituents.
Create and maintain a database of Indiana high school partner contacts as well as College of Arts and Sciences programming for high school students.
Responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders as part of high school recruitment efforts.
Meets regularly with campus and high school partners to identify opportunities for experiential learning programming within the College of Arts and Sciences for Indiana high school students.
Coordinates logistics for campus visits for high school students including schedules, itineraries, transportation, and cost sharing between the Recruiting Team and College departments.
Maintains office accountability and integrity to include compliance with campus policies and best practices, Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and federal student financial aid regulations.
Provides orientation and guidance for staff, students, and volunteers who engage with the office and recruitment efforts. Assigns tasks to hourly and support staff as needed.
General Responsibilities
Maintains, implements and oversees a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan for recruitment.
Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals.
Integrates a diverse and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, geared toward specific student declared academic major, career interests, and geographic factors.
Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers.
Interprets academic policies and exercises authority and independent judgment.
Plans, implements, and evaluates programs and processes and determines the effectiveness of markets and strategies. Exercises independent judgment and uses census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans and strategies to address specific populations.
Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll under-represented populations. Participates in the assessment and evaluation of various models.
May attend meetings or serve on committees with the admissions stakeholders, including all staff meetings, recruitment, and outreach team meetings, customer service lead meetings, and undergraduate recruitment council meetings; may provide guidance to other admissions counselors, particularly regarding recruitment schedules and objectives for recruitment staff in a given region.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
