JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Residential Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting Child Development Specialist (CDS) staff to ensure high-quality care and compliance with agency policies. This role involves providing orientation and training, conducting regular supervision sessions, and offering ongoing coaching to enhance staff performance. The Administrative Residential Supervisor will manage payroll processes, monitor staff performance, and mediate conflicts, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Additionally, this role requires collaboration with various professionals, promoting staff engagement, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Child Development Specialist (CDS) Oversight:
Provides supplemental orientation and training for new CDS staff as needed.
Conducts regular one-on-one supervision sessions and group supervision when applicable.
Assesses learning styles of CDS staff and adapt teaching methods to meet their needs.
Oversees payroll process, including monitoring and approving CDS timesheets.
Ensures familiarity with agency and program policies and procedures and ensures CDS staff are also familiar with them.
Proactively checks in on CDS staff between supervision sessions.
Provides ongoing coaching and counseling around performance and job expectations.
Monitors staff performance and collaborates with Human Resources to ensure corrective action if needed.
Manages and mediates interpersonal conflicts that may arise between CDS staff.
Provides reminders for training renewals using HealthStream.
Ensures time off requests or scheduling needs of CDS staff are reported to the scheduler and submitted through Paylocity in a timely manner.
Provides weekly email updates to leadership on CDS development efforts.
Uses data to improve staff performance.
Maintains knowledge of environmental safety expectations from a regulatory perspective (Joint Commission, DCF, DPH) and prepares for planned and unplanned program walkthroughs and audits.
Leadership:
Works collaboratively and respectfully with teachers, clinicians, nurses, and other professionals.
Contributes to improvements in programming and resolution of problems.
Role models therapeutic interactions with youth.
Role models professionalism in communication and behavior, including good attendance and punctuality, timeliness for meetings, adherence to dress code, respectful and clear communication, follow-through, confidentiality, accountability, and integrity.
Attends staff meetings and present relevant topics as needed.
Ensures that staff maintain an atmosphere where racial, cultural, ethnic, gender, and physical differences are respected and honored.
Promotes staff engagement for program and agency-level events.
Addresses any issues or conflicts that arise during the shift.
Ensures CDS staff understand the agency’s mission and the program's vision and purpose.
Ensures CDS staff are aware of any important updates or events in the program.
Ensures any staff injuries during the shift result in a call to The TRUST and reported to program leadership and HR.
Fosters team building.
Become an agency trainer in one of the program training models (TCI, RC, CPR).
Training & Documentation:
Supports staff development in professionalism and role-specific skills.
Works with the Staff Development Department to monitor and address any retraining needs or performance issues in documentation, workflow, therapeutic interventions, and implementation of policies and procedures.
Client Related:
Supports CDS staff in understanding client treatment plans (goals, objectives, interventions) and Personal Action Plans.
Teaches and coaches CDS staff on trauma-informed care.
Reinforces TCI concepts and how they apply to work with children (LSI, IESCAPE).
Reinforces and teaches Risking Connection Concepts and how they apply to work with children (RICH).
Assists with crisis management in emergency situations.
Valid driver’s license and the capacity to attain or maintain a Public Service License, Medication Administration Certification, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certification, Risking Connection, American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certification.
EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years’ proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a similar setting.
Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment.
Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback in a solution-oriented manner.
Ability to make quick decisions and use problem-solving skills to ensure smooth operations.
Must be culturally competent to serve a diverse population.
Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations, i.e., must be able to supervise groups of children and perform physical intervention if required; must be able to move freely from place to place without restriction.
