Position Summary |
The Assistant Director for Athletic Operations and Facilities assists the Director with coordinating all aspects of facility management for athletic facilities, including but not limited to scheduling, opening and closing, event and game management, and serving as a liaison with internal and external constituents. The Assistant Director hires, trains, schedules and oversees various paraprofessional support staff. |
Essential Duties |
- Assist in the coordination of all aspects of facility management for the Athletic facilities.
- Responsible for ensuring all proper procedures are followed in the daily opening and closing of the Athletic facilities.
- Assist in coordination, development, and implementation of policies and procedures for use of all Athletic facilities.
- Assist in coordinating Athletic game management and all special events held in the Athletic facilities.
- In coordination with the Director, serve as a liaison with the following university departments including, but not limited to, Physical Facilities, Public Safety & Campus Recreation/Intramural Office
- Assist in recruiting, training and evaluating all assigned student support staff within the Athletic department.
- Hire, train and oversee all student workers for events and schedule and supervise an Operations Intern.
- Assist with the set up and breakdown of Athletic events, rentals, and other events that may occur within LaSalle University Athletics.
- Supervise campus events in the TruMark Financial Center and other Athletic facilities.
- Perform general maintenance on all Athletic facilities.
- Complete facility checklist on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis; subsequently place work orders for necessary items.
- Serve as Event Manager for assigned events and rentals and as secondary Event Manager for Men’s and Women’s Basketball games.
- Liaison with visiting teams and officials.
- Support La Salle University’s educational philosophy and the goals of the Athletic Department as a loyal, energetic, and highly visible University representative.
- Responsibility for compliance with NCAA Bylaw 10.1 (ethical conduct) and NCAA Bylaw 11.2 (contractual agreements).
- Responsible for compliance with all rules, regulations, and principles of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Atlantic 10 Conference and any other conference with which the University may have an affiliation, and with the policies and procedures of La Salle University.
- Responsible for compliance with all of the regulations of Title IX related to Athletics in the administration of all-intercollegiate athletic programs, policies, and procedures.

Secondary Responsibilities |
- Perform opening and closing duties in the TruMark Financial Center and the Kirk Pool, as needed.
- Participate actively in professional organizations through attendance at conferences, clinics, and conventions as authorized by the Director in order to maintain awareness and understanding of current developments within all areas of responsibility.
- Assume additional duties and responsibilities as determined and assigned by the Director.

Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to NCAA and member conference rules and regulations.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification must be maintained.
- Valid driver’s license and successful clearance of motor vehicle record check.
- Successful background check clearances including, but not limited to, a PA Criminal Records Check, FBI Fingerprinting Check and PA Child Abuse Clearance Check.
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Previous experience in a college or university setting
- Previous experience supervising student staff

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours |
- Performs job both indoors and outdoors.
- Required to work evening and/or weekends as necessary to manage events or oversee facilities during peak periods.
- Work in stationary position for periods of time in all weather conditions.
- Physical activity required. Must be able to move heavy equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.
