SUMMARY: The Hatchery Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hatchery, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality chicks. The Hatchery Supervisor will managing a team of hatchery workers, coordinating egg incubation processes, and maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Hatchery Supervisor will optimize hatchery performance, improve productivity, and ensure the health and welfare of the chicks through effective supervision, equipment maintenance, and biosecurity measures. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of hatchery operations are essential for success in this role.
RESPONSBILITIES:
Completing the chick delivery sheets as well as flock pull sheets and mortality charts
Keeping logs on each truck consisting of miles and hours worked by each driver
Ensuring movement of chicks to farms according to shipment schedule.
Monitoring the incubation and hatchery equipment as well as the environmental control equipment
Overseeing chick deliver and pick-up
Supervising personnel on a daily basis
Preparing vaccines to be given to the chickens
Performing other responsibilities as the need arises
Create daily rotation for team members
Any other duties as assigned by manager
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school degree or higher preferred.
Experience: 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. Hatchery experience a plus.
Computer Skills: Basic Computer skills.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Hatchery Supervisor is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities.
Travel: 1 - 2 trips per year.
