Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician at Horizontal Talent in New Carlisle, Indiana

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation and maintenance of servers and network equipment, ensuring the stability and efficiency of our network infrastructure.
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cable vendors to install, inspect, and troubleshoot cabling.


• Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords.


• Ensure compliance with all installation practices within the Data Center.


• Report current status through ticketing systems, status reports, email, and slack.


• Manage work priorities through ticketing systems to complete customer requests and projects.


• Maintain accurate records and document processes to successfully draft and execute changes.


• Exhibit quality workmanship and maintain site cleanliness.


• Work with a partner to move integrated enterprise equipment from loading docks to planned positions.


• Coordinate daily material deliveries to the site.


• Carry a cell phone for communication, information, and emergencies.


• Travel up to 50% within the geographical work area as required.


• Ensure transportation availability to move between sites as needed.

Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.


• Minimum of 1 year of experience in cabling or optic experience.


• Proficiency in SM and MM fiber, and computer hardware experience.


• Ability to work at heights and from ladders safely.


• Capability to conduct site walks and installation tasks for an entire 8-hour shift.


• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly and participate in group lifts for heavier items.


• Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment and provide after-hours support as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a data center.
