A key member of the Technology and Automationdivision of EDG with responsibility to grow EDG TECH. The Business Development role is a jointconsulting and sales role requiring deep technical knowledge. The role will encompass strategy, technicaldirection, and the business acquisition process that ultimately results ingrowth.
JobDuties and Responsibilities:
• Achieve the divisional target sales plan;
• Participate and contribute to the technicalstrategy and tactics to align our services and capabilities with our targetclients;
• Represent EDG Technology and Automation in allfacets of the business acquisition process;
• Aggressively prospect for new opportunities inaccordance with the tactical and strategic plans;
• Responsible for the proposal process for allaccounts/opportunities;
• Consult and support the development and reviewof commercial proposals in coordination with operations;
• Visibly champion EDG's 'Character by Design'and 'Unifying Principals';
• Manage ongoing client relationships and act asa sponsor for key projects;
• Coordinate and support all marketinginitiatives including presentations, client engagements, and industry events;
• Manage the CRM information for accuratefrontlog reporting;
• Work in close coordination with other EDGbusiness development personnel for the betterment of EDG.
Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering,Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similardiscipline preferred;
• Ten or more years of outside sales/businessdevelopment experience in the industrial integration and technology business;
• Ten or more years of direct technicalexperience in integration and/or technology deployment - project managementskill a plus;
• Knowledge and relationships with keytechnology suppliers and ability to function in a partner/competitorenvironment;
• Knowledge of key business areas including, butnot limited to, OT/IT convergence, open process automation, digital twins,edge-to-cloud integration, and traditional automation technologies;
• Strong background in contract negotiation andunderstanding of risk associated with the Technology and Automation line ofbusiness;
• General awareness/knowledge of applicableindustry standards;
• Exceptional verbal and written communicationskills;
• Ability to interact and collaborate with peersacross the organization;
• Requires the ability and availability totravel offsite as required.
WorkingConditions:
• Work is primarily conducted in an officeenvironment but also requires occasional travel to off-site work locations;
• Field duties require outdoor work in aconstruction site or in plant type atmosphere;
• Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel;
• Working on a construction site or in plantand/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
• Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection;
• May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes;
• May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis.

• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing orother communication capabilities which permits employee to communicateeffectively;
