The Accounting Clerk works directly with the accounting team to provide admin support and assistance with accounting responsibilities and data entry and reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
Assist with approving invoices for payment, including account coding and consistent posting of transactions.
Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger transactions adhering to established department and company deadlines.
Ensure that all shipments are invoiced and submitted to the government with speed and accuracy.
Post transactions as requested for accounts payable and claims chargebacks.
Assist with the Vendor payment process ensuring all invoices are paid timely.
Assist with posting bank reconciling items, banking fees, ACH payments, AP (Accounts Payable) Vendor payments.
Assist with process of preparing, obtaining approval and recording general ledger journal entries.
Assist with the monthly financial close process including preparation and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries for multiple entities.
Assist with reconciling intercompany transactions and accounts monthly.
Assist with preparing, analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts monthly.
Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
2 years accounting experience, preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customer Service oriented
Ability to work well in time-sensitive situations where customer satisfaction is the goal.
Proven ability to apply attention to detail, role-related accuracy and task follow-through.
Experience in data analysis a plus.
Proficient using MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and other Microsoft Office products.
Positive, proactive, and professional demeanor
The ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
Preferred experience with Great Plains accounting software
