An engineering services company in Texas has a great Senior-level opportunity awaiting a new Mechanical Designer with their growing team in the Greater Austin area. In this role, the Senior Mechanical Designer will be responsible for supporting engineering group by designing, assembling, and testing electromechanical components and systems.
Responsibilities:
Design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems
Resolve complex technical issues, conduct research, and identify product/service innovations
Design and detail custom components, including: Steel, Aluminum, Fiberglass, Injection Molded Plastics, and Weldments
Investigate and integrate linear actuators, cables, connectors, and cable management
Design mechanical latches, linkages, bearings, and machine elements
Work with suppliers to specify and incorporate AC and DC electrical power, data/controls, and sensors into mechanical assembly
Work with suppliers to specify fluid and pneumatic pumping and filtration, pressurized process piping, and sealing options, and incorporate into mechanical assembly
Develop customer requirements and functional specifications from verbal and written communications with customer
Develop and execute tests for mechanical systems and equipment
Create, modify, and review engineering drawings and models
Maintain drawing and computer files
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
7+ years of related experience
High School Diploma or two-year technical Associate's Degree
Proficient in SolidWorks and other computer?based software systems
Microsoft Office proficient
Solid problem-solving and time management skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
