Clinical-stage biotechnology company based in South San Francisco focused on developing innovative therapies for immunological diseases and cancer. Currently seeking a Scientist I with a strong background in immunology to join our research team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in T and B cell biology. This role involves leading and executing research using in vitro and ex vivo human disease models to explore immune mechanisms in health and disease.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, perform, and analyze experiments to investigate immune cell function and disease pathways.
Apply multi-color flow cytometry to characterize immune cell subsets and responses.
Conduct functional assays using primary human immune cells, whole blood assays, and ELISA.
Lead individual research projects and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
Present findings internally and externally, contributing to key scientific discussions.
Maintain detailed and organized experimental records; support scientific publications and patent filings.
Draft study reports and collaborate with Translational and Regulatory teams on IND-enabling studies.
Provide mentorship and scientific guidance to junior researchers.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of postdoctoral or industry experience; or an M.S. with substantial industry experience.
Solid foundation in T and B cell immunology; familiarity with myeloid or granulocyte cell biology is a bonus.
Demonstrated ability to independently lead scientific projects in a fast-paced setting.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work across disciplines.
Strong analytical thinking and a history of scientific creativity and innovation.
Experience with immunohistochemistry, ELISPOT, qPCR, and/or single-cell RNA analysis is preferred.
