The Role The Project Control Lead will lead the cost, planning, scheduling, and risk assessment support for assignments, project teams, and clients on projects ranging from small to moderate size and complexity. This role ensures the implementation and operation of all required project controls systems, tools, and interfaces for successful project management and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities:
Act as the focal point with the client and any contractor Project Controllers to ensure costs and progress are reported accurately
Monitor overall project progress status, achievement, and non-achievement of major milestones; analyze performance in relation to the plan
Identify, monitor, and report against the project critical path, providing early warning to the Project Manager of any potential slippages
Effectively manage the communications interfaces essential for delivering cost, planning, scheduling, and risk deliverables and services
Utilize project management systems and tools to update and manage project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts
Report project status and KPIs to management
Review and produce weekly and monthly project cost and planning status reports
Implement the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for specific scopes of work
Implement the cost and planning control structures in alignment with the project WBS
Lead the project work approval process in terms of accurate cost code allocation and initial budget set-up and approvals
Timely control and forecasting of budgets; ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the budget and schedules
Support Project Accountants and Billing Specialists; ensure timely and accurate invoicing
Develop and maintain monthly Contingency, Bookings, Accruals, and cash flow position to provide visibility to Management and Finance Team
Monitor, record, and evaluate progress for subcontractors; support with quantifying subcontractor scopes of work
Create fully resourced, logic-linked Gantt Charts within preferred planning software to the agreed project and program requirements
Monitor current and forecast future resource needs for the project and program through analysis of workload at the project level
Identify slippages, significant float erosion; lead the recovery process
Develop and issue project change orders/variations in accordance with contract/assignment change notifications
Promote the project change management system; ensure adherence to process
Attend client progress meetings as required
Ensure risk management and monitoring at project level in line with local standards and processes
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all cost, planning, and risk deliverables prior to issue to internal or external customers
Ensure all project-specific tools and systems are set up and functioning adequately
Implement project-specific tax strategies recommended by Tax Advisors; provide leadership on resolving project-related tax issues as they arise

Expected:
Typically requires a minimum of six (6) years of relevant industry experience, with at least four (4) years in project control positions
Knowledge and appreciation of the core principles of Contracts Management, Commercial Management, and Project Management
Working knowledge and application of earned value and other monitoring techniques
Excellent client service focus
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office software suite of applications
Prior field experience working on-site viewed favorably
