Employee Type: Regular This position works under limited supervision to process daily workforce time cards, update and distribute payroll and related weekly and monthly reports, and perform clerical duties as required. Job Description: Essential Duties: Routinely enter and edit workforce time cards within the timecard system Run weekly workforce overtime reports and monitor vacation and holiday reports for workforce employees Distribute monthly vacation and holiday reports to workforce supervisors Work independently or cooperatively with others to perform time card management and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures Ensure maintenance of electronic and paper payroll records Respond to inquiries regarding payroll procedures for the purpose of providing necessary information Resolve discrepancies between payroll processing and/or other documentation to ensure accurate payments Actively participate in the conversion from paper to electronic time keeping Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal regulations Other Duties & Responsibilities: Perform duties for other departments as required Perform other administrative and support duties as directed Complete special projects as assigned Involvement in audits as needed (internal or external) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing job duties Ability to handle confidential information Knowledge of basic math, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, and payroll computer software General knowledge of mining operations, and, specifically, equipment and shifts Thorough knowledge of pay policies/procedures, including Federal and State regulations, and apply pay policies/procedures consistently Good time management and organizational skills Good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills Minimum Requirements: Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or business, with one year of experience in accounting, finance, or payroll; or, three years of equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or payroll may be considered in lieu of an Associate’s degree.
