Position Summary:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the hard-line tube fabrication department. Utilize Lean Manufacturing concepts to increase the efficiency and throughput of the department.
Primary Duties:
Manage daily work schedules and priorities for producing tube assemblies.
Ensure production procedures are in place, are understood and followed to provide for the highest quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Review/revise existing operating procedure documents.
Develop new standard operating procedures for undocumented processes and keep up to date as process improvement initiatives are achieved.
Operate Tube Production in a profitable manner always looking towards ways to improve efficiency, reduce scrap and develop better quotation models.
Respond to sales requests concerning scheduling and expediting of customer production requirements.
Respond to tube manufacturability issues from the production floor, develop production solutions, or develop design solutions and coordinate acceptance of suggested changes with customer engineering.
Prepare a monthly Tube Production Management report which includes a narrative on accomplishments, staffing, safety, concerns, and year over year statistical data on productivity, returns, scrap, etc. and forward to Director of Operations. Report relevant statistics to Tube Production Team to keep them involved.
Develop, document, implement and maintain quality standards and processes for tube production quality assurance.
Tube Production Manager is the first point of communication for customer corrective action requests or issues regarding Tube Production. Work with Tube Production Supervisor and production staff to analyze root causes.
Develop, document, implement, monitor and follow-up on corrective action plans to ensure effectiveness. Prepare and submit written corrective action reports per customer request.
Maintain calibration requirements and documentation for tube production test equipment.
Facilitate regular team meetings to solicit and gather information from the Tube Production Team members to involve them in the processes of continuous improvement.
Keep abreast of principles, trends and state of the art manufacturing and tube production equipment capabilities via publications, seminars, networking, and trade shows.
Coordinate troubleshooting and repair for any failed or failing tube production equipment.
Purchase supplies required for Tube Production processes.
Adhere to strict Safety Guidelines.

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field. Experience in lieu of education is acceptable.
Previous manufacturing management experience a definite plus.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts.
Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required.
Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
Basic computer skills, with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 a plus.
Experience with industrial distribution preferred. Familiarity with industrial and hydraulic hose and fittings, especially Parker Hannifin a plus.
Must be able to work with a wide variety of people and personalities.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Job requires frequent lifting up to 70 pounds, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, constantly walking/standing on cement flooring, and climbing ladders as needed.
