Provides leadership for building and enhancing relationships between Valencia College and its Alumni community. Develops and executes programs fostering alumni engagement, increasing unrestricted annual support, and helps build a pipeline for major gifts. Oversees fundraising programs, initiatives, strategies for alumni, faculty, staff, Board, and external community member participation for foster current and future donor relationships. Brings subject matter expertise related to the area as well federal, state, and local regulations to support the alignment of department goals to the college's goals. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance daily .
Fully On-site: Employee performs all of their job duties at a Valencia College location, with flexibility in the work schedule, if appropriate.

1. Provides vision, leadership, and execute a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy aligned with the college and foundation's goals and targeted to involve alumni in lifelong relationships with Valencia College.
2. Develops, maintain, and oversee alumni communication strategies including the college magazine, electronic newsletters, and social media.
3. Plans and implements a variety of alumni events including career connections, the annual Homecoming reunion, retiree events, outreach, and campus engagement with the goal of building a pipeline for future giving and support.
4. Identifies and recruits alumni for volunteer opportunities; collaborates with college partners to support college-wide events.
5. Directs, guides, and monitor progress of the Foundation's Annual Giving program and provides notification of results to the Execute Director and Foundation staff.
6. Develops and manages strategies, goals, timelines, and alumni budgets for annual giving plan.
7. Serves as primary point of contact on behalf of the foundation and Valencia College alumni to internal and external audiences.
8. Works with marketing and other departments to identify alumni engagement opportunities that foster alumni affinity and advance the College's mission.
9. Directly hires and supervises assigned staff to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
10. Creates, manages, and maintains expenditures of alumni engagement activities and the annual giving program in cooperation with the finance team.
11. Manages the nomination, selection, and honoring of the Distinguished Graduate and Distinguished Alumni awards.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in alumni relations, fundraising and/or similar area.
Marketing, communications, public relations, fundraising, nonprofit management, or a related field.
Experience in higher education or nonprofit sector.
Experience leading teams.
Data management systems: Raiser's Edge.
Knowledge of annual giving principles, strategies, stewardship, and evaluation.
Knowledge of alumni engagement program management and evaluation.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to persuade and influence.
Skill in effectively communicating with and presenting to - interpersonally, verbally and in writing - a wide range of individuals, organizations, and constituencies.
Ability to organize, prioritize and make decisions.
Ability to prepare and effectively manage budgets and resources.
Ability to effectively work independently as well as with individuals and partners.
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus.
