Adecco Permanent Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer for foundry operations on behalf of our global manufacturing client. This is a Direct Hire opportunity based in Pageland SC.
Summary:
As a Maintenance Reliability Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving improvements and managing the technical health of our machinery fleet. Your goal will be to enhance equipment reliability and availability through strategic maintenance practices and technical oversight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, propose, and lead improvement initiatives based on failure analysis results.
Oversee asset records and data within the maintenance management system.
Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting support to mechanics and operators.
Monitor equipment performance and reliability metrics, and support resolution of complex mechanical issues.
Utilize root cause analysis tools (e.g., FMEA, TPM) across disciplines to identify and correct failure points.
Evaluate equipment performance to identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to streamline processes and enhance machine reliability and output.
Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors/manufacturers to address disruptions and explore technical enhancements.
Contribute technical input to external service agreements and maintenance contracts.
Manage inventory and asset performance assessments.
Advise on new project designs-including new installations, overhauls, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) considerations.
Create and present investment proposals aimed at improving uptime and reducing long-term costs.
Design and implement preventive maintenance programs, including inspection standards.
Generate work instructions and standard inspection sheets (SIS lists).
Maintain accurate technical documentation for both existing and new equipment; implement standardized maintenance practices.
Lead and participate in initiatives to optimize spare parts management and maintenance workflows.
Oversee projects involving component procurement, contractor coordination, and production sign-off.
Support capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and execution.
Monitor key equipment, identify maintenance needs, and recommend proactive strategies.
Track and work to improve mean time between failures (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR).
Create and manage a maintenance skills matrix for the operations team.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
Familiarity with control systems and PLC technologies.
Knowledge of electrical drive systems.
Proficient in maintenance methodologies such as FMECA, RCA, and 5 Whys.
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and rotating tables.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and workplace regulations.
Experience with 3D CAD software, databases, and Microsoft Office tools.
Prior experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Project management experience in an industrial setting.
Minimum two years of experience in industrial manufacturing (Foundry experience a plus).
