About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) works closely with the Project Manager on various aspects of a project and must thoroughly understand the project scope and the client requirements. The APM, in collaboration with the PM will coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and vendors to bring projects in on-time and on budget.
What you'll do:
Develop and manage project budgets and cost forecasts with Project Manager.
Effectively analyze, negotiate, and execute contracts.
Review and interpret architectural drawings and engineering schematics.
Maintain professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers and contractors.
Assist with constant communication with entire project OAC (Owner, Architect, Contractor) team and all consultants. Research and suggest products when appropriate for OAC team.
Visit site at least weekly to review project status, resolve issues, and coordinate with the General Contractor and team.
Coordinate and attend design and construction meetings, compose meeting minutes.
Review and process billing from consultants and contractors.
Review and process change order requests.
Develop and maintain project schedule(s).
Review construction progress and quality on-site.
Maintain electronic job folder per Company protocol.
What we're looking for:
2 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, or other PM Software
Working knowledge of cost control, budgeting, contracts, bill and forecasting
Must have valid driver's license
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent is a plus
Experience with PMWeb, Bluebeam, Procore, Plangrid and other similar software is a plus.
