Our client, a leading investment firm, is seeking a Development Manager to join their team in Manhattan Beach, CA!
Responsibilities:
Manage and provide technical leadership to a team of offshore developers supporting business-critical applications.
Oversee the daily operations of the L1/L2 support process: monitor inbound ticket queues, assign work, ensure timely response/resolution, and report on KPIs.
Act as the liaison between onshore stakeholders and offshore teams to ensure business needs are clearly understood and implemented correctly.
Review and approve code and technical solutions for bug fixes, enhancements, and small projects.
Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and lead efforts to improve stability and performance.
Stay hands-on with code-approximately 30-40% of the role will involve development and troubleshooting.
Implement best practices in support operations, including shift handovers, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Provide coaching and mentorship to offshore team members, monitor performance, and enforce accountability.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in software development with at least 2+ years in a team leadership or managerial capacity.
Strong technical background in .NET, SQL, or similar enterprise development environments.
Prior experience managing or working with offshore teams (India preferred) in a support or maintenance capacity.
Solid understanding of ITSM/ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
Experience in a financial services environment is highly preferred.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to balance hands-on coding with people and process management.
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with investment operations, trading systems, or structured financial products.
Experience working in regulated environments or with compliance-focused development.
