Job Summary

A Facilities/Process Engineer performs and leads processand/or mechanical design of oil and gas production and midstream facilities,including new installations, upgrades and retrofits to existing onshore andoffshore facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

(Assignments will vary depending on the nature ofprojects received from clients and candidate's applicable work experience,expertise and proficiency.)

• Develop Design Basis criteria from piecemealclient information;

• Recommend, develop and evaluate alternativeprocessing concepts;

• Perform process simulations and develop processflow diagrams with associated heat and material balance tables;

• Develop P&IDs or mechanical flow sheets;

• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure anintegrated design that meets project requirements;

• Design of process (production separation, sourproduction sweetening, oil and gas dehydration, produced water treatment,export metering) and/or utility (fuel gas, chemical injection, instrument air,diesel, heat medium, cooling, drainage, power generation) systems;

• Gather data, including production data, productspecs and site condition data;

• Perform sizing calculations for processequipment, piping, in-line instruments, valves, PSVs, and pipelines usingcompany developed tools and/or process simulation software;

• Perform and/or review process engineeringstudies (i.e. de-bottlenecking, vent/relief, hydraulic analysis, API 14Ccompliance) and develop associated reports and spreadsheets;

• Develop written engineering reports andrecommendations;

• Prepare equipment specifications and data sheets;

• Prepare specifications and data sheets forinstruments and specialty items;

• Process Hazards Analysis participation and RiskIdentification;

• Review and approve vendor quotations, drawings,and related submittals.

• Projects that the Process Engineer could beinvolved in include:

o Oil& gas production, gas processing, gas treating, and related processes andutility systems

o Domesticand International projects

o Onshoreand offshore projects

o PreFEEDconceptual design and selection studies, Front End Engineering Design (FEED)and Detailed Engineering (DE)

Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Basicor Minimum Requirements

• BS degree or higher in Chemical or related Engineeringdegree with demonstrated process expertise required;

• For candidates with engineering degrees attainedoutside the U.S., the candidate must have attained an E.I.T. designation from aU.S. based state licensing board;

• Requires ten (10) or more years' experience inengineering design and/or project management of offshore oil and gas facilities;

• Proficiency with process simulation using HYSYSor UNISIM required;

• Requires knowledge of codes and standardsassociated with oil and gas production facilities and equipment installations(e.g. API, ANSI, ASME, NFPA);

• Experience withdeveloping sizing calculations, drawings, and data sheets associated with oiland gas production facilities including equipment & instrumentation;

• Requiresexperience performing and documenting engineering studies associated with oiland gas production facilities;

• Experience in gas plant design and/or Oil &Gas production systems preferred;

• Availability andthe ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously;

• Must be eligible to work in the US withoutsponsorship.

PreferredQualifications

• P.E. License registration preferred;

• Field experience in operations and/orconstruction a plus.

WorkingConditions:

• Work is primarily conducted in an officeenvironment (Private or Semi-Private office) but may require occasional travelto off-site work locations;

• Field duties may require outdoor work in a plantor offshore platform atmosphere;

• Interaction with other team members, as well assupervisors and client personnel;

• Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areasaround production machinery with extreme noise levels;

• Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection;

• May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes;

• May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis.

Physical Requirements (With orwithout Reasonable Accommodation):

  • Must be able to lift and carry twenty (20) pounds;
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;

  • Sufficient manual dexterity which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
