We specialize with respected clients in the heavy industrial, manufacturing; food grade processing plants, chemical and processing; power and renewable energy; healthcare facilities, and mining industries, as well as federal, state, and municipal agencies. Due to growth, we need to bring on a high level controller to lead the accounting functions of our nationwide operations.
Position Overview The Controller - Construction will oversee all financial operations within the construction division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management to support project success and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the financial activities of the construction division
Prepare and monitor budgets for various construction projects
Conduct financial forecasting and analysis to guide decision-making
Ensure compliance with GAAP and accounting principles in all financial reporting
Implement effective cost control measures to optimize project profitability
Perform financial audits and ensure adherence to financial regulations
Lead tax preparation and compliance activities
Manage risk through financial analysis and proactive planning
Utilize ERP software for financial reporting and project management
Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team
Oversee contract management and financial terms of construction agreements
Analyze job costing for construction projects and manufacturing operations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Proficiency in GAAP and accounting principles
Experience with construction project management and cost control
Familiarity with audit management and compliance regulations
Experience in tax preparation and financial risk management
Proficient in ERP software and financial reporting tools
Demonstrated team leadership and management skills
Strong experience overseeing $50mil+ in job costing
Knowledge of contract management and construction practices
