We are looking for a Maintenance & Reliability Manager to lead and support the team in driving operational excellence and ensuring the optimal performance of all plant equipment. This role is critical to maintaining the efficiency, safety, and compliance of our facility, covering mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
As a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT), you will contribute to the site's strategic direction, growth, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also oversee the operations and maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality execution of all maintenance activities.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience in maintenance or equipment repair-ideally within manufacturing or chemical industries
Proven experience managing unionized teams and administering Collective Bargaining Agreements
Deep understanding of industry and regulatory compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, PSM, cGMP, EPA, DEA, DOT)
Technical & Leadership Skills:
Skilled in Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement practices
Experience using maintenance management systems
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving
Familiar with chemical manufacturing environments and support systems
Key Responsibilities:
Lead maintenance operations across manufacturing, utilities, distribution, and wastewater systems
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive reliability and performance improvements
Develop and enforce preventive maintenance programs and best practices
Support Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance in alignment with OSHA standards
Manage maintenance contracts-scoping, bidding, and overseeing timely, high-quality work
Ensure all work aligns with OSHA, EPA, DHS, and FDA safety and regulatory standards
Maintain training and certifications for maintenance staff and contractors
Control maintenance budget and monitor expenses effectively
Identify and manage critical spare parts inventory
Assist with capital project planning, installation, and commissioning
Oversee and optimize the site's maintenance management system, leveraging data to drive long-term asset performance
Lead labor relations and ensure adherence to collective agreements
Collaborate cross-functionally on projects and initiatives
