Indiana University's (IU) newest school, the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design, is seeking an Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment. The Assistant Director will play a crucial role in achieving the school's recruitment and enrollment goals for our graduate programs. This position will market the school, identify, and recruit incoming graduate students, and work with them throughout the admissions process.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Collaborates with the Director of Admissions and Recruitment to develop and implement a comprehensive graduate recruitment plan including managing recruitment outreach and attending college fairs and events.
Assists in the development and implementation of marketing, recruitment, and yield strategies; creates personalized communications with prospective students and admitted students.
Works closely with Director of Admissions and Recruitment and Graduate Program Directors to identify channels and markets for competitive graduate candidates.
Conducts market research to audit current practices, identify new markets, and assist in the development of new strategies.
Develops, implements, plans, and leads information sessions, campus tours, programs, and events associated with graduate admissions and recruitment goals.
Creates and establishes the Eskenazi School Graduate Ambassadors program.
Assists in the recruitment, hiring, training, and management of the Eskenazi School Undergraduate Ambassadors.
Works with faculty to organize and evaluates applications to make admission recommendations/decisions.
Evaluates data after admissions season.
Collaborates and communicates with a variety of stakeholders including program directors, faculty, school leadership, and campus partners.
Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll varying populations.
May attend meetings or serve on committees with the Admissions stakeholders, including staff meetings, recruitment, and outreach team meetings, etc.
General Responsibilities
Maintains, implements and oversees a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan for recruitment.
Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals.
Integrates a multifaceted and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, geared toward specific student declared academic major, career interests, and geographic factors.
Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers.
Interprets academic policies and exercises authority and independent judgment.
Plans, implements, and evaluates programs and processes and determines the effectiveness of markets and strategies.
Exercises independent judgment and uses census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans and strategies to address specific populations.
Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll under-represented populations.
Participates in the assessment and evaluation of various models.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
