Job Summary Summary
Responsible for overseeing the administration and optimization of payroll processes and systems. This position involves managing the payroll team, ensuring compliance with regulations, implementing system upgrades, and enhancing the efficiency of payroll operations.
Essential Functions:
-Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll cycles for hospital employees.
-Lead the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the hospital's payroll systems, including time and attendance, tax withholdings, and direct deposit processes.
-Supervise and mentor the payroll team, providing guidance on payroll processing, compliance, and continuous improvement.
-Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements to streamline payroll operations.
-Coordinate and participate in internal and external payroll audits.
-Collaborate with HR, finance, and IT departments to ensure seamless integration between payroll systems and other organizational systems.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Finance or Human Resources Management required; Bachelor's Degree Finance preferred
5-7 years of experience in payroll, accounting or finance, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting required
2 -3 years of leadership or supervisory experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in payroll processing.
Familiarity with time and attendance systems and their integration with payroll processes.
Working schedule:
Hybrid, 1 day per week in office at Assembly Row in Somerville, MA required
