Responsibilities:
Load proper tooling into press brake by entering instructions, setting tool registers, calculating requirements including basic math, geometry and trigonometry
Verifies setting by measuring position
Maintains specifications by observing machine operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes; and adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Must be familiar and able to setup and operate other sheet metal forming equipment as job requirements demand
Ensuring you adhere to all ASGCO policies and procedures
Following and accountable for Safety policy and procedures
When necessary, provide training on all aspects of the press brake
Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items
Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required item
Work well with limited supervision
Responds to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
Other responsibilities as seen fit by management
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a press brake operator
Valid Driver’s License
Have knowledge and skills to perform job using band saws, grinders, press brake, shear, drill press, chop saw, part painting
Have knowledge of basic math or geometry
Read a variety of manuals and following prescribed formats with the ability to inform others and solve practical problems
Strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Can lift up to 50lbs, bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time, significant fine finger dexterity
Working Conditions:
Frequently exposed to regulated noise, cold working conditions also exposed to smells that are within the guidelines
Possible exposure extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles
While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday
Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, which may include a hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
