Your Role:



The LSPS-OpEx Specialist 1 supports the Life Science Production System (LSPS) deployment activities at a site level; prepares progress reports on the LSPS initiative at key meetings, acts as a role model for cultural behaviors. Collaborates on opportunity assessment (OA), executes improvement plans for area optimization. The LSPS-OpEx Specialist 1 also co-leads workshops and contributes to building capabilities of the site through targeted training and coaching of frontline employees.


  • Demonstrates leadership skills to drive change and challenge the status quo respectfully and professionally while building rapport and trust with peers.

  • Working with video display images for extended periods of time - up to eight (8) hours per day.

  • Communicates opportunities, impacts, and risks effectively within own and frontline team through strong written and verbal skills.

  • Understands and practices MilliporeSigma High Impact Culture behaviors.

  • Develops partnership within frontline teams to help drive continuous improvement.

  • Analyzes data, gathers inputs, and observes operations to identify gaps & opportunities and propose root causes for improvement. Formulates possible solutions. Independently builds visuals to communicate the opportunity to the plant.

  • Manages project charters, timelines, and task follow-ups to ensure safe, timely completion and effective communication of risks to deployment leads




Work Location: 3500 Dekalb St. Louis, Missouri




Shift: Regular working hours. 7:30-16:30 Hours Mon-Fri




Physical Attributes:



  • May sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time.

  • Lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.

  • Lift more than 50 pounds assisted.

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment, "PPE," including but not limited to, hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical-resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes.

  • Work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot, or cold.

  • Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts.


Who You Are




Minimum qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in biology, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Science or Engineering discipline.

  • 2+ years internal experience in Operations or Supply Chain.

OR


  • High School Diploma and 3+ years internal experience in Operations or Supply Chain.

  • 2+ years managing continuous improvement projects.


Preferred qualifications:



  • Experience managing projects, preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute work according to safety & quality standards.

  • Experience implementing 2+ LSPS elements, including 1 foundational element (Daily Management System, Leader Standard Work, 6S, or Problem Solving).

  • Experience working with internal stakeholders or cross-functionally.

  • Lean training (blue, green, black belt or similar) preferred.

  • Strong computer skills including database management; proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, Smartsheet)

  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong leadership skills including training staff and fostering collaborative teamwork.

  • Self-directed and self-motivated.

  • Strong ability to effectively prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks and projects with varying requirements and deadlines.

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and thrive in a constantly changing business environment.

  • Proven ability to influence with and/or without direct authority.
