Job Description:

Our client, a well-established leader in the telecommunications industry located in Mattoon, IL, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Account Executive to drive strategic B2B sales initiatives within the local metro area. This role focuses on building high-value relationships with small to enterprise-level businesses, delivering tailored communications solutions, and consistently exceeding performance goals. The ideal candidate brings deep sales expertise, excellent executive presence, and a proven ability to close complex deals.

Location: Mattoon, IL (+ travel)

Salary: $70k-$85k/annually (+ uncapped commission)

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key decision-makers, including C-level executives and business owners across a diverse territory
* Strategically identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities with a focus on long-term partnerships and revenue growth
* Serve as a subject matter expert on telecommunications solutions and advise clients on value-driven strategies
* Lead the full sales cycle-prospecting, proposal development, presentation, negotiation, and closing
* Accurately track all sales activities and pipeline progress in the company's CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, MS Dynamics)
* Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, product, and customer support to ensure a seamless client experience
* Actively participate in networking events, industry functions, and prospect meetings to expand brand presence and uncover new opportunities
* Consistently meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets as defined by leadership
* Travel within a 1-hour territory radius as needed for client engagement

Qualifications:

* Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, with a strong track record in solution-based or consultative selling
* Experience working with mid-market to enterprise-level accounts
* High proficiency in CRM systems for sales activity tracking and forecasting
* Demonstrated ability to build and manage a pipeline with long sales cycles
* Willingness to travel within assigned territory (local/regional)
* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
* Previous experience in the telecommunications, IT, or managed services sector
* Familiarity with selling unified communications, internet/data services, or cloud-based solutions
