The Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies (HLS) is a leader in the study of international affairs and the languages, cultures and perspectives shaping our world. HLS takes a multidisciplinary approach to global education, offering instruction in over 80 languages, the most in the country, and helping students develop cultural fluency and expertise in nearly every region, including Africa, Russia, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Job Summary
This position will be part of the HLS Dean's Office Recruitment & Admissions team, which is responsible for encouraging prospective students to enroll in HLS majors/courses and providing a student face to the HLS student experience. Prospective students include both high school and current IU students.
General Responsibilities
Co-lead info sessions for prospective families and lead HLS and/or campus tours.
Participate in and facilitate HLS events during and outside business hours.
Communicate with prospective families and students, one-on-one and in group settings.
Attend Student Ambassador meetings & training sessions.
Assist the Recruitment team by sharing their time and student experiences with potential students and their families.
Assist in the planning and execution of recruitment-related events and projects.

Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University pursuing a major in the Hamilton Lugar School

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Student Ambassadors must be available to work at least one day during the week to host an HLS information session, held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:00-3:00pm in HLS.
