Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Employee Engagement Program Manager leads a variety of global initiatives that create meaningful experiences for employees.

 

The Employee Engagement Program Manager ideates, initiates, and leads high impact engagement initiatives in collaboration with HR, Employee Engagement Specialists/Partners, functional leaders, and other stakeholders across the organization.  They will manage employee survey and listening rhythms, provide consultation to leaders on employee engagement enablers, conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis, and develop scalable solutions.  They will manage employee events, traditions, and messaging both internally and externally to amplify our employer brand and positively engage employees in our purpose. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    In alignment with business goals, plan, drive, and manage multiple company-wide employee engagement initiatives that result in positive impact across the company and help differentiate Exact Sciences’ reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Strategize, develop, and execute initiatives to increase employment brand awareness and amplify individuals’ purpose and meaning with their work, both internally (i.e., inform employees about perks, benefits, activities, community service, etc.) and externally in partnership with the HR team (i.e., recruiting, HR business partners, Corporate Affairs, etc.).

  • Develop communication plans and content to create awareness and adoption of key employee programs, processes, benefits, events, and perks; provide consultation to various program owners on communications and change adoption.

  • Design, prepare, and edit communications, presentations and other documents in support of engagement activities or other internal communications; coordinate meetings and events.

  • Lead various employee listening mechanisms; including various annual and pulse engagement surveys and other modes to solicit and analyze employee experience.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, event manager, and community ambassadors to conceptualize, plan, and produce human experiences and social/community events and traditions that create lasting connections.

  • Lead groups of volunteer employees to support engagement initiative implementation, rollouts, and adoption activities, as needed.

  • Lead short-term assignments on the Engagement Team.

  • Participate and support additional projects on the Engagement Team, Organizational Development Team, and HR, as needed.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on selected engagement topics and initiatives; review external research on various topics related to employee engagement.

  • Strong group facilitation skills; including comfort with simultaneously navigating digital workplace tools, remote participants, synthesis of information, and participant engagement.

  • Strong virtual communication and presentation skills; comfortable collaborating virtually across time zones/locations both from an interpersonal, relationship, and trust building perspective, as well as from a digital workplace perspective.

  • Excellent writing skills; ability to communicate using our brand voice; ability to distill complex content into clear, concise, and engaging communications; and ability to write with empathy, speed, and accuracy.

  • Ability to work designated schedule Monday-Friday.

  • Ability to work some weekend or weeknight events, when needed and scheduled.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for approximately 2% of a typical working day.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.

  • Considerable periods of time may be spent concentrating and/or analyzing data.

  • Ability and means to travel between Exact Sciences’ locations.

  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human Resources, Marketing, or a related field; or High School Diploma/General Education Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

  • 8+ years of professional work experience in Employee Engagement/Experience/Communications, Customer Experience, Patient Experience, or similar role.

  • 3+ years of experience consulting or coaching on improving employee engagement or another human-centered field such as customer experience, patient experience, or hospitality.

  • 3+ years of experience managing multiple, complex projects with multiple workstreams to defined timelines; strong organization and prioritization skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Expertise in visual storytelling using quantitative and qualitative data, charts, and graphs.

  • Experience leading employee engagement/experience initiatives in a fast-paced, global, purpose-driven work environment; strong understanding of the differences in employee engagement drivers for salaried versus hourly employees, as well as for technical and scientific employees.

  • Strength and experience in analytical problem solving and diagnosis using various qualitative and quantitative techniques; including correlation analysis, sentiment analysis, and network analysis.

  • Experience and comfort in “starting a movement” and recruiting early adopters where none exist.
