Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The PLC Programmer works precisely and carefully to create machine software to safely operate the machine to meet customer requirements both in-house and at the customer’s site. This position also assists in the commissioning of machines and systems and responds to customer’s service needs. Cross-disciplinary work is required with all trades, external companies, suppliers, and manufacturers. The PLC Programmer diagnoses causes of malfunctions or failures and advises and helps implement corrective actions.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·    Independent creation of the machine and system software 
·    Programming / parameterization of drive controllers
·    Programming / parameterization of hydraulic controllers
·    Troubleshoot and solve any issues related to the equipment’s software
·    Respond quickly to any problem causing equipment down time
·    Collaborate with Project Manager to ensure equipment can meet its availability requirements
·    Keep accurate records of all work performed at the customer
·    Additional duties as assigned.
 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

·    Completed training in electronics or mechatronics
·    Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming (S7, TIA Portal, or comparable)
·    Practical experience with pneumatic and hydraulic actuators
·    2+ years of previous machining and/or programming experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
·    Willingness to travel locally, nationally, and/or internationally
·    Service oriented – ability to work closely with the customer
·    Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues across the organization
·    Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
·    Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting
·    Strong analytical, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills
·    Strong verbal and written communication skills
·    Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
·    Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, & internet applications
·    Ability to work overtime as necessary
