GPI Laboratories is seeking a full time Project Manager for our testing laboratory operations in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our laboratory evaluates industrial coating materials (paint products) as well as environmental samples related to the industrial painting industry.

Responsibilities:
Point of Contact for our customers throughout the duration of testing projects
Day-to-day management of assigned projects. This includes initiating, coordinating, scheduling, preparing agendas, tracking follow-ups actions, and documenting meeting activities both internal and external
Prepare project reports, including interim and final reports to clients and management
Maintain a high degree of customer service including understanding customer expectations and schedule needs
Document project status in online tools such as Microsoft Teams and Planner
Assist in development and documentation of our quality system
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a natural or applied science, Chemistry preferred
Ability to balance the needs of multiple projects and customers
Experience with published test methods (ASTM/ISO/SSPC/NACE etc)
Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering and minimum 3 years of technical work experience

Read, write, and understand plans and direction given in the English language
Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
Able to stand for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours
Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, safety glasses/goggles, and/or masks while working
