Job Description:

Join our amazing shared mail team in Salt Lake City! The Maintenance Technician 2 provides maintenance support and repairs to production machinery, computer systems and facility for a manufacturing operation on 2nd shift. Additionally, performs all the duties of a Maintenance Technician 1 as required.

Must have weekend day shift availability (Friday - Sunday. Flexible).

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Production Support: Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests on the production floor. Train production technicians in the proper set-up and copy troubleshooting techniques. Provide training and assistance to production technicians as needed to help maximize production output and minimize downtime through the utilization of proper production techniques and handling practices.


  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Effectively diagnose mechanical, electrical, network, and computer hardware/software in assigned area (facility, machinery, equipment, etc.) Make timely and accurate repairs, as necessary, during production Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.


  • Preventative Maintenance: Inspect machinery for potential problems on a daily basis. Documents problems and schedules work/repairs as appropriate. Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner. Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan. These activities will be recorded using proper PM sheets.


  • Administrative: Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory. Inform Supervisor of parts and equipment used from inventory. Record maintenance activities using the proper computer application or paperwork Provide training and coaching to new maintenance technicians and inspects their work.


  • Housekeeping/Other: Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff including work area clean-up, machine, and equipment clean-up, sweeping up after clean-up and various other general housekeeping duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

  • Mechanical and/or Electronic courses (Preferred)

  • Associate degree (Preferred)


EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of related mechanical and electrical experience (Required)

  • Electro-mechanical experience (Required)


CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES
  • Powered Industrial Truck Certification

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to calculate area, circumference, volume, etc.

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to organize work, people, and materials.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.

  • Ability to retain knowledge of procedures and processes and understand complex instructions and multi-step procedures.

  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language preferred.

  • Ability to work a schedule with call-in and overtime duties.

  • Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.

  • Able to identify and perform Level A,B & C equipment preventive maintenance.

  • Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints.

  • Intermediate math skills.

  • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements.

  • Must demonstrate good time management skills. Plans and organizes daily work flow.

  • Proficient in performing production equipment preventive maintenance.

  • Service-oriented personality.

  • Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills.


Equipment/Software Utilized

  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet software.

  • Ideal candidate will have experience with Inventory Software, Manufacturing Software and Order Processing Systems.

Hourly Pay Rate: Starts at $23.00+ depending on skillset and experience.

The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
