About the Role
Under general supervision, is responsible for supporting the timely process through which end user issues and/or system problems are controlled. Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. Administer and/or maintain specified systems. Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Encompasses all duties in the Technician, Desktop Support III description.
Responsible desktop configuration, to include but not limited to Desktop Policies & Security.
Manages problem diagnostics and resolution.
Builds hardware and manages upgrades.
Responsible for hardware & software consultancy.
Manages software diagnostics, installations, upgrades & training.
Manages server connectivity.
Responsible for and manages network installation.
Manages procurement and license inventory.
Manages relocation and disposal of computer equipment.
Manages printer diagnostics, installations, and repairs.
Responsible for supporting the timely process through which end user issues and/or system problems are controlled.
Responsible for project planning (roll out new systems, upgrade, and patches) and project implementation to all sites.
Responsible for training for new hires and ongoing training.
Manages Escalated Technology Support issues and assist with Technology projects, including the installation and repair of computers.
Manages ordering escalated computer issues.
Manages escalated technical assistance to repair PCs.
Consults with Network Support Technicians, Employers and Vendors to resolve escalated issues.
Support, Network Support Technicians to carry out resolution.
Administers and/or maintain specified systems.
Manages all current and future applications through the Altiris system.
Administer Desktop policies via Altiris/ Active Directory.
Administer, configure, and maintain IT Service Management platform.
Skills and Qualifications
Same Certifications as Desktop Support Technician III.
Three + years Desktop Technician experience.
Must possess Windows Enterprise Desktop Administration Certification.
One of: Altiris CMS, Cherwell CSM Foundations, McAfee EPO, McAfee HIPS, Windows Server 2008 Active Directory config, Server+, or CTT+.
