JOB DESCRIPTION:



Hybrid - 3 days in office and 2 days remote


Targeted Years of Experience: 7-10 years


Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and gather information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or enhance performance.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to assess design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functionality to ensure specifications are met.
• Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.
• Lead software system testing and validation procedures, including programming and documentation.
• Supervise the work of programmers, technologists, and other engineering personnel.
• Establish system performance standards.
• Manage data storage, retrieval, and manipulation for system analysis.

Must-Have Skills (Most Important):

• Solid understanding of AWS Cloud technologies and DevOps tools.
• Experience with ingesting unstructured, structured, and semi-structured data from logs, databases, APIs, and spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with data modeling, ingestion, harmonization, and curation.
• Proficiency in AWS Step Functions, Lambda, NodeJS, EC2, CloudFormation, APIs, JSON, XML, SQL, JavaScript, GitLab, and deploying infrastructure as code using Jenkins and PostgreSQL.

Desired Skills:


This role is part of the STEAP (Strategy, Technology, Enterprise Architecture, and Platforms) organization and seeks a Data Engineer to join its SRE Metrics and Insights team. The following skills are highly desired:

• Developing SRE Metrics with cloud technology, security tools, and findings.
• Experience with DevOps tools.
• Familiarity with SaaS-based solutions logging and monitoring (New Relic, Splunk).
• Proficiency in Shell Scripting, Ansible, and Apigee.
• Knowledge of various databases.
• Experience with SAFe, Scrum, and/or Agile methodologies.

Education/Certifications:


Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
