Job Description:

Primary Job Purpose:  Responsible for all payroll functions, and Human Resource support, Assistance with Accounts Payable.

Essential Job Functions:


  • Practices the Values, the Mission, and Philosophy of Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center.

  • Responsible for all processes related to biweekly payroll, including but not limited to, data entry, monitoring data for accuracy, working with employees to ensure data accuracy, communication with payroll vendors as needed, inclusive of all payroll reports, taxes, 401k, garnishments, and all other deductions.

  • Responsible for PBJ reporting

  • Responsible for preparing and sending out Flash reports to managers.

  • Responsible for monthly Office of Inspector General employee checks.

  • Assist with review and balancing of all W-2 information at year-end.

  • Assist with Accounts Payable processing.

  • Conduct 2nd half process for potential new hires, including drug screens, background checks, physical screening, and all documentation.

  • Assist with weekly new hire orientation meetings. 

  • Process requests for employee information from various organizations.

  • Provide Human Resource support.

  • Responsible for the Eben Ezer Neighbor Personal Needs accounts assuring there is money available in the petty cash boxes. Assists neighbors with deposits and withdrawals. Records all transactions and balances bank statement monthly.

  • Must maintain confidentiality of all work-related information according to HIPAA regulations.

  • Assure residents' rights, privacy, and HIPAA regulations are followed.

  • In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Eben Ezer needs or requirements.

This position is full-time, 34-38 hours a week, flexible Monday-Friday. 

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Qualifications, Education, and Experience: Associate's degree in accounting or related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) or three years of general experience in accounting.  Payroll experience preferred or any appropriate combination of education and experience.

Other Skills and Abilities:


  • Knowledge of state regulations on payroll practices.

  • Must be able to work under stressful situations and cope with multiple interruptions.

  • Must be skilled in accurate data entry, have an organized filing system, practice wise time management, and meticulous record keeping.

  • 10-key touch, word processing, data entry, general computer skills, email, internet, spreadsheets, etc.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate trustworthiness and reason when dealing with emotional topics.  Contributes to building a positive team.  Treats people with respect, tact and foster an environment of teamwork. 

  • Must possess ability to think critically, be detailed-oriented, make good decisions, work well with peers, work under supervision, handle multiple interruptions, and work on the multiple tasks throughout the day.
