Job Summary | The University of Kentucky Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement is seeking a Donor Experience Officer (DXO) to join the Annual Giving team. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the DXO will work as part of donor-centered team focused on engaging and growing the next generation of supporters to the university. Utilizing modern technology, the DXO will provide a first-class philanthropic experience to alumni and friends of the university. Communicating through a variety of channels (social media, email, video, and phone), this role will build relationships with our supporters connecting them to the causes they are passionate about UK. The Donor Experience Officer will manage a portfolio of approximately 1,000 donors with clear weekly, monthly, and annual goals. The candidate will collaborate with other departments both internally at the university (including Marketing and Communications, Alumni Relations, and Philanthropy) and externally, to effectively execute 1:1 outreach campaigns using technology resources including EverTrue’s cloud platform, social media and virtual communications software. Candidates should be self-motivated and positive professionals, with a team-first optimistic attitude, eager to engage alumni and friends in a personalized manner and share the goals of the university in an enthusiastic and informed manner. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate will be a strong, collaborative leader with a proven record of success in building and sustaining relationships that foster gift giving and engagement. This position requires an individual who understands person-to-person relationships and has the ability to convincingly articulate the vision and priorities of the University and match them to the interests of prospective donors. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with digital communication methods such as video calls, social media, and email. Demonstrated experience in marketing, philanthropic messaging and persuasive writing is also desirable. |

Preferred Education/Experience | Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, alumni engagement, person to person customer service, or communications. Experience in fundraising at a higher education institution is preferred. |
