Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Production Manager or Area Supervisor, the Line Lead performs all the functions of the Line Personnel as instructed by the Production Manager or Area Supervisor; or when either of them is not present gives directions to production personnel in order to maintain the safe and efficient operation of the production lines. Line Leader is expected to be walking/standing on their line during their shift and be responsible for quality work.
Role and Responsibilities:
Direct all production line personnel.
Proper communication of supervisor expectations to line personnel
Handle batch change paperwork while still running the line.
Ensure proper reliability reporting.
Identify product quality problems and initiate corrective action.
Coordinate changeover process and verify all components staged on line.
Coordinate components for line
Maintain cleaning supply inventory for designated area; Assist line crew with cleaning.
Provide assistance running through breaks and lunches.
Notify supervisor of any problems that might or do result in “Hold” material.
Identify, analyze, and correct production rate barriers.
Spotting defects and inconsistencies in groups of items
Follow Safety/GMP guidelines.
Ensure quality checks and sheets are completed.
Verify can, carton/can code for batch record as applicable.
Complete or assist in the completion of control charts for fill weights, concentrate and perfume for batch records.
Normal position responsibilities
Does not have authority to hire, fire, or issue disciplines.
Ensure all metric documentation and reporting (written or electronic) is completed accurately in a timely manner.
Attend daily GEMBA walks and ensure GEMBA updates are added to board and reported out in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required. Technical school or higher education preferred.
Experience in a leadership role preferred
Experience with handwriting and checking manufacturing documents preferred
Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to speak, read, understand and maintain records as required in English.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds preferred
Experience with filling systems and Motor Controls preferred
