Job Description:

The Material Handling Supervisor responsible for and ensures the efficient control (quality, timely processing, input /output accuracy, and manpower productivity) and compliance to ISO standards of day to day operations of all processes related to the OPS Distribution Department. Directly responsible for monitoring and education of Associates in all aspects of P.O. and order processing to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy. Responsible for identifying and resolving any operational inefficiency as it relates to quality, safety, goals achievement, system integrity, and customer satisfaction.

Plans and supervises the day-to-day operations of non-exempt or lower level exempt employees; initiates and communicates a variety of personnel actions, e.g., employment, termination, performance and salary reviews, scheduling and/or approving overtime, etc.; ensures consistent application of organizational policies.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED. Training in quality process and productivity is a plus.

  • 3+ years of warehouse experience including shipping, receiving and inventory control. Experience managing work through procedures and quality goals. Experience in service-oriented warehouse preferred.

  • Ability to set priorities, analyze situations, make qualified decisions, and work to metrics. Must have strong problem solving skills.

  • Strong grasp of basic mathematical principles.

  • Ability to manage and educate full time employees and temporary workers. This includes planning work, setting and measuring performance goals as well as ensuring the quality of work.

  • Must be detailed oriented in all processes, strive for perfection, have strong attention to details, personal drive, and initiative

  • Good computer skills. Comfortable with PC-based business software and business operations systems

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Very organized work habits.


Directly accountable/responsible for:

  • Accuracy and quality of all products received and placed into distribution warehouse storage. Production, and/or Repair department.

  • Accuracy and quality of all products picked for all customer orders.

  • Accurate implementation of all P.O. and shipping special instructions pertaining to warehousing.

  • Accuracy and quality in the packaging of all products for shipment to customer.

  • Accuracy and timely processing of all assigned data entry into SAP system.

  • Accuracy and quality of input/output of associates assigned to area.

  • Accomplishment and support of all warehouse goals as established.

  • Implementation of all receiving and shipping standards as established by Manager.

  • Education/training of associates assigned to area in quality process and procedures, safety, and related functions and tasks.

  • Compliance to all aspects of maintaining and executing ISO standards and documentation.

  • Responsible for activities to efficiently maintain locations of parts and their accuracy


Other important duties and responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with Material Control and Sales to establish a strong positive communication flow with all Customer Service in order to build a high degree of confidence in our ability to meet our customer’s expectations.

  • Must coordinate in an “adjusts to the moment” manner to meet the ever-changing demands of our customers and other Departmental requirements.

  • Assist in the collection of data for the identification of strengths and weaknesses in the achievement of the following operational goals:

    • Receiving in 24 hours or less 98%

    • Shipping to request date 99%
      • Errors < .15%


    • Inventory accuracy 98%

      • Ensure proper usage and handling of RF and data collection equipment.

      • Accuracy and timeliness of all inbound YEA transfers.



    • Review with associate all errors and implement process change to prevent errors from re-occurring.

    • Assist management in the development of new and innovative methods of distribution material handling, systems, and procedural process control.

    • Maintaining of all files and related operational paper work in compliance with record retention schedule.

    • Participate in company-sponsored activities, including suggestion program, Kaizen, ETQP, quality training, etc.

    • Perform other duties as required.
