JOB SUMMARY

The Purchasing Agent II will be responsible for ensuring a high level of responsive field support for revenue generating activities. Provides the best value to Nabors through competitive sourcing. Resolves vendor and Operations issues. Creates and issues purchase orders for services and materials. Collaborates closely with key stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure sourcing solutions are competitive.   


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Purchase materials and services required to meet Supply Chain objectives and to expeditiously complete customer sales orders and repairs.

  • Negotiate prices, delivery, and terms with suppliers.

  • Expedite deliveries to meet field customer business needs and schedules.

  • Receive requisitions:  analyze for quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements.

  • Develop sources by locating suppliers, request pricing and delivery; research goods, place orders, follow-up until equipment and/or material is received.

  • Advise management of market conditions and supplier base activity, which could affect pricing and/or delivery.

  • Contributes to PSC departmental goals and objectives through initiative-taking purchasing that lead to lower TCO and improved customer satisfaction.

  • Participate on strategic development and implementation projects and participate as assigned on special projects.

  • Reconcile problem invoices related to purchase orders.

  • Work with freight forwarders and Logistics Manager daily.

  • Investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalf of management.

  • Strong product knowledge of drilling equipment, materials, and service.


 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related fields or 4 to 6 years equivalent work experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, strong listening skills.

  • Strong organizational skills are required.

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and effectively handle details.

  • Able to drive implementation of policies, procedures and best practices.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain good working relationship with team, management, and departments.

  • Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Make decisions that properly reflect company policy.

  • Ability to understand the customer needs and specify requirements.

  • Flexibility to solve different types of challenges.

  • Provide after-hours support as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Experience in oil and gas drilling or closely related industry.

  • Knowledge of international procurement practices.

  • Strong supply chain background with the ability to interact with internal and external customers and suppliers.
