Job Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

Applies principles of cost accounting to conduct studies and analysis providing detailed cost information required to set manufacturing standards, report performance against those standards, and generally develop improved accuracy of production transactions and inventory valuation by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 


  1. Monitors information system data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.

  2. Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, or manufacturing methods, to determine effects on costs and resulting standard adjustment.

  3. Supports CFO, Controller, and other accountants in developing systems and processes.

  4. Analyzes Epicor ERP system to ensure accuracy of information.

  5. Analyzes audits of costs, prepares reports. Monitor scrap and special project costs.

  6. Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.

  7. Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.

  8. Reconciles general ledger accounts.

  9. Generate and distribute various reports and spreadsheets.

  10. Assists in performing physical inventory and internal inventory audits

  11. Assists in process of period and year-end close.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

 

Accounting Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and 0 to 2 years accounting department experience.  Desire to learn cost accounting and grow within a company.  Strong computer skills with an emphasis on the Windows Excel applications.

This position is responsible for supporting the financial community in a professional accounting capacity leading to continuous improvement of information used for decision purposes.
