Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc., dba Heluna Health is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency dedicated to enabling population health initiatives to improve the overall well-being of our communities. Heluna Health strives to become the nation’s leader in providing programs and support services to optimize population health.  Heluna Health partners with academic researchers, government agencies, foundations, and private sponsors to offer a suite of services, including contracts and grants management; fiscal sponsorship (providing a financial ‘home’ for researchers, projects, and agencies); human resources support; accounting services; real estate/leasing and direct population health program leadership.

The salary range for that position is $27.40 to $31.67 per hour commensurate with experience.

SUMMARY

In collaboration with the Payroll Lead and the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Representative will perform payroll functions for the company in compliance with federal regulations, state regulations, and company policy. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Assist with Payroll processing for semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls for approximately 2100 employees.

  • Assist with processing employee payroll changes.

  • Assist with generating manual checks.

  • Import, audit, and collect timesheet information.  

  • Assist with entering monthly benefit adjustments as part of payroll processing.

  • Verify accuracy of payroll changes entered.  

  • Assist with processing off-cycle payroll adjustments.  

  • Log and respond to garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies. 

  • Assist with processing payroll changes within deadlines. 

  • Generate payroll reports needed for billing projects.

  • Produce payroll reports needed for audits.

  • Respond to employee payroll related requests within defined timeframes. 

  • Respond to internal payroll related requests within defined timeframes.

  • Assist with quarterly-end payroll and payroll tax adjustments and reconciliations. 

  • Assist with year-end tax adjustments, annual reconciliations, and W-2 generation.

  • Maintain payroll records as required by law.

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience 


  • Two to four years of experience working in a payroll department.

  • High School diploma required.

  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.

Certificates/Licenses/Clearances


  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus

Other Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities


  • Excellent/professional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels within the organization.

  • Willing desire to provide excellent customer service.

  • Computer skills to include data entry, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience using payroll processing systems, preferably UltiPro.

  • Replicon Time and Attendance system experience a plus.

  • Strong initiative, ability to anticipate issues proactively.

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven track record of reliability and responsibility.

  • Detail oriented, strong organizational and administrative skills.

  • High level of integrity, discreet, able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately.
