Lab Technician



Duration: 18 Months, Contract, W-2


Location: Onsite in Irvine, CA


Pay - $24.22 - $26.79/hr


Our medical device client is seeking an Entry Level Laboratory Technician to support he clinical success and user experience of structural heart devices, which will serve to evaluate the design and performance characteristics of company devices as well as physician trainings for various projects.


Job Responsibilities:


* Support R&D, clinical and training teams with their beating heart system needs, by providing animal or human cadaver fixed hearts and other beating heart equipment.


* Order and maintain the inventory for the animal and human cadaver heart programs.


* Process and fix animal and/or human cadaver hearts to be used in beating heart systems.


* Pack and ship equipment, animal and human cadaver hearts globally to be used for training or development of company products.


* Maintain documentation for orders and shipments.


* Work closely with project team members, and internal partners to deliver project objectives.


* Operate a wider range of lab equipment including set-up, clean-up, break-down, and re-assembly.


* Perform operational tests and identify failure modes on systems and equipment; may propose technical solutions.


Skills:


* Experience with handling animal or human cadaver tissue is preferred as well as experience with Echo/Floro machines.


* Basic knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases.


* Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.


* Self-motivated, self-starter and take direction as needed.


* Detail oriented with good communication and documentation skills.


* Demonstrated task ownership and accountability for task results.


* Must be a team player and be able to work and get direction from project team members.


* Be able to carry objects up to 30 pounds and stand for periods of time.


Education/Experience:


* High school diploma or GED required.


* Associate's degree in medical technology or vocational training preferred.


* 0-2 years wet/dry lab experience required.
