Job Description:

Adient is looking for a Lead Trim Engineer to oversee the development of trim programs and provide leadership and direction to teams. This role involves close collaboration with the Trim Engineering Manager or Chief Trim Engineer to ensure trim designs meet quality, cost, and craftsmanship goals.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Trim Cover Design: Develops trim patterns using 2D pattern design principles and CAD tools. Ensures designs meet cost targets and quality standards.
  • Engineering Support: Manages change requests, releases engineering data, and supports build events. Provides engineering solutions and troubleshoots issues.
  • Communication Skills: Coordinates with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. Supports material evaluation and issue resolution processes.
  • Job Scope: Executes tasks independently, provides technical guidance, and may supervise subordinates. Manages time and resources efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Engineering degree, desirable Textile Engineering Degree in job related field (e.g. textiles, clothing, etc.) 
  • Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Proficient in MS Office, CAD tools, and PLM systems. Strong understanding of trim cover development, automotive environments, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 program launch cycles (Note: "Program launch cycle" is defined as a complete trim development maturation cycle from initial patterns through production start-up, preferably in an automotive JIT seating environment)
