Adient is seeking a Benefits Manager to lead the design, implementation, communication, and administration of the company's health and welfare programs. This role involves consulting with Human Resources, management, and employees on benefit plans, policies, legal requirements, and claims issues. The Benefits Manager will recommend benefit solutions aligned with the company's business and strategic goals, maintain financial oversight of billing, and ensure the automated benefits system is properly maintained.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and administer employee benefit programs
(medical, dental, vision, life insurance/AD&D, wellness programs, 401k,
flexible spending, voluntary benefits).
Manage relationships with benefit providers and service
administrators; negotiate contracts; evaluate vendors.
Analyze benefit plan coverage; recommend strategies,
policies, and programs to attract and retain employees.
Develop communication plans to ensure understanding of
benefit plans.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations,
reporting, and filing requirements.
Monitor benefit costs; provide data for trend and budget
impact analysis.
Maintain compliance with Leave of Absence policies and
procedures.
Oversee the open enrollment process, including timeline
development, communication, system updates, and reporting.
Maintain accurate benefits data, records, and reports.
Perform other duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications
Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations
related to benefit plans (COBRA, HIPPA, ERISA).
Experience communicating with the DOL and IRS.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexibility and ability to work with all employee levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; strong Excel
skills preferred.
Ability to create and interpret reports related to benefit
costs and P&L impact.
Professional, articulate, and able to maintain
confidentiality.
Energetic and driven with strong initiative, project
management, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Specialized training or coursework in benefits
administration highly desired.
Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in the
benefits field.
Experience with vendor and broker management.
Proficiency with HRIS systems.
Primary Location: Central Tech Unit Plymouth MI
Travel Requirements: Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
