Procurement Supervisor:

Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Procurement Supervisor to oversee our purchasing activities and lead our procurement team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on purchasing experience, a strong background in procurement processes, and the ability to mentor and develop junior staff members. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of successful procurement operations. Preferably experience in a engineering, manufacturing, chemical, municipal or industrial industry.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services.
  2. Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
  4. Lead and mentor junior procurement staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  5. Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
  6. Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential opportunities or risks.
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and standards.
  8. Analyze procurement data to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
  9. Participate in cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and projects.
  10. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting procurement performance and key metrics.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles, with hands-on experience in buying and sourcing.
  3. Previous experience supervising or leading a procurement team.
  4. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  6. Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
  8. Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Knowledge of procurement best practices, regulations, and industry trends.
  10. Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
